List of Coverages 501(c)(3) Nonprofits Nonprofits Own Insurance Insurance FAQ Read a history of how the Group started	List of Coverages To qualify for ANI or NIAC membership, an organization must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As we only insure nonprofits, we have many specialized insurance products designed specifically to meet the needs of the nonprofit sector. Nonprofits' OWN is an enhanced liability policy. These enhancements were designed by and for nonprofits. The Nonprofits' OWN policy provides a combination of insurance products. Nonprofits' OWN offers the ability to purchase enhanced General Liability and Auto insurance. We also offer Improper Sexual Conduct, and Directors & Officers insurance, available on an enhanced event-trigger basis. List of Coverages Commercial General Liability Coverage Summary: This is typically the "core" coverage for a nonprofit. ANI and NIAC provide this on an "occurrence" policy, not a "claims-made" policy. Depending on the extent of the general liability coverage purchased, commercial general liability insurance may provide coverage for a wide range of negligent acts which result in bodily injury, property damage, personal injury or advertising injury to a third party. Occurrence form Defense costs in addition to the limit Written on ISO CG 00 01 form Limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate available Blanket Additional Insured. Includes CG 2010 (Owners, Lessees, Contractors, CG 2011 (landlords), CG 2012 (permits), CG 2018 (mortgagee), CG 2020 (charitable institutions), CG 2021 (volunteers), CG 2026 (funders) and CG 2034 (lessor of leased equipment). Special events coverage is available $500,000 limit for Damage to Premises Rented to You (aka Fire Legal) provided. Limits up to $1,000,000 are available and may be purchased upon request. Medical Payments included at a $20,000 limit Workplace Violence Counseling, $50,000 limit Unsatisfied Contributions, $25,000 limit Non-owned Watercraft (up to 75 feet) Bail Bonds, $5,000 limit Expenses incurred to assist in claim defense, $1,000 a day Newly Formed Entities until end of policy period Identity Theft Reimbursement, $30,000 Terrorism Travel Reimbursement, $30,000 Kidnap Expense, $50,000 Executive Recruitment Expense, $50,000 Aggregate Limits Per Location endorsement - CG 2504. We know our members with multiple locations appreciate this enhancement. Revised Care Custody and Control Exclusion to Provide Limited CCC Coverage up to $25,000. Did you know that property of others in your care, custody, and control is excluded under a general liability coverage form? Many members have expressed disbelief surrounding this issue, so we have written an endorsement to address this. It still requires the insured be liable. It is excess over any other available insurance. Liquor Liability, CG 0033. Some of you have been concerned about the adequacy of “host liquor” coverage available in the general liability coverage form, so we wanted to assuage your concerns by providing liquor liability coverage on its own form. Limited Coverage to Employees' and Volunteers' car if damaged by client of nonprofit. From time to time, we receive claims when a client damages an employee's or volunteer's personal automobile. So, we have created this endorsement to provide deductible reimbursement coverage up to $1,000. Directors & Officers Liability If ANI or NIAC's General Liability is bound, nonprofits are eligible to apply for event-trigger D&O coverage. Coverage Summary: The key distinction with directors and officers liability is that it is intended to cover wrongful acts that are "intentional" as opposed to "negligent." This is because directors and officers insurance is designed to cover actions and decisions of the board of directors. These actions may be in error and wrong, but they are, nonetheless, "intentional" acts. Most other types of insurance do not cover "intentional" acts. Among the items a good directors and officers policy should include is broad coverage for all types of employment related actions, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, failure to hire, etc. It should also pay defense costs as they are incurred, not on a reimbursement basis. Flat Rate D&O Flat rate D&O Product for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with no employees. Specifically designed for nonprofits with no employees, this low cost product provides D&O protection for nonprofit board members and the organization but excludes coverage for any employment related actions. The flat rate is $600 for limits of $1,000,000. New and renewal business with no employees are eligible. Improper Sexual Conduct Liability Coverage Summary: Also known as sexual abuse coverage, when Nonprofits' OWN General Liability coverage is bound, the nonprofit may be eligible to purchase ISC coverage. The intent of this coverage is to respond to allegations of sexual abuse. This should not be confused with sexual harassment, which is more appropriately insured under a directors and officers policy. NIAC and ANI provides improper sexual conduct on an event-trigger form. Any organization that provides services to youth, developmentally disabled of any age, or senior citizens should consider this type of insurance. Specific Features: Written on an “Event-Trigger” form ANI or NIAC-ISCET – not a Claims-Made coverage. Limits of up to $1,000,000 each claim and $3,000,000 aggregate available, with higher limits available with purchase of an Umbrella policy. Up to $10,000 reimbursement of wages policy limit for an employee suspended from work with pay during an Improper Sexual Conduct investigation Defense of alleged perpetrator until he or she is convicted of a criminal offense involving sexual conduct Coverage extends to client vs. client allegations No deductible Volunteers and employees are included as insureds Discounted background check pricing available Business Auto Liability Coverage Summary: Commercial Auto coverage may include liability only or may also provide physical damage coverage. The liability portion covers damage to other vehicles or property and injury to others for accidents for which you are at-fault. Auto physical damage covers repair of vehicles you own. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage may be purchased with the business auto policy and it provides coverage for accidents involving uninsured or underinsured motorists. Specific Features: Non-Owned and Hired Auto Liability coverage (can be written without owned autos) Uninsured Motorist coverage up to $1,000,000 limit available Written on CA 00 01 form Symbol One Liability Coverage provided. This is the broadest coverage symbol available. Rental Reimbursement, CA 9923, up to 30 days @ $50 a day is available. A valuable enhancement when a covered auto incurs a loss. Employees and Volunteers as Insured, CA 2054 and CA 9934. Knowing that nonprofits frequently rely on volunteers and employees to use their own vehicles on agency business, this coverage is much needed. Waiver of Collision Deductible, CA 0305, provided on all eligible autos. Drive Other Car (DOC) - CA 99 10 - FREE when requested Hired auto physical damage available Free Defensive Drivers Training Program Free Vehicle Monitoring Program Social Service Professional Liability Coverage Summary: This coverage is available as an endorsement to the Commercial General Liability policy. It typically provides coverage for negligence and errors and omissions as a result of professional and peer counseling activities. While it may, depending on the policy, cover nurse practitioners and the dispensing of medications, it is not true malpractice liability coverage. This policy is not sufficient for organizations with medical malpractice exposures. Specific Features: Volunteers automatically included as insureds Coverage provided on an Occurrence ANI or NIAC-E32 form No deductible Broad insuring agreement Vicarious liability for the organization included Limits of $1,000,000 occurrence and up to $3,000,000 aggregate available. Umbrella Liability Coverage Summary: True to its name, umbrella liability insurance typically provides higher limits for a variety of coverages. Specific Features: Limits up to $10,000,000 available Follow form coverage can include General Liability, Auto Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Social Service Professional Liability, Employers Liability, and Improper Sexual Conduct Liability Written on UMB 10 00 form $10,000 self insured retention Employee Benefits Liability Coverage Summary: This coverage is purchased as an endorsement to the Commercial General Liability policy. It is intended to cover damages from your organization's negligent handling of the administration of your employee benefits program. Specific Features: No deductible Claims-made basis Written on NIAC or ANI-E6 Limits up to $1,000,000 occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate available Non-Owned/Hired Auto Liability Coverage Summary: If your employees or volunteers use their own vehicles on company business, this coverage is highly recommended. The purpose of this policy is to provide liability coverage excess of an individual employee's or volunteer's auto insurance. If the organization is held liable for the employee's or volunteer's actions involving his or her vehicle and the limits of the individual's personal auto insurance policy have been exhausted, the coverage will be engaged. Specific Features: Non-Owned and Hired Auto Liability coverage (can be written without owned autos) Employees as insureds (CA 2504) and volunteers as insureds (CA 99 34) available Written on ISO CA 00 01 form Limits up to $1,000,000 available Companion Programs Employee Dishonesty Coverage Summary: Employee dishonesty coverage is designed to insure against an employee's fraudulent or dishonest act, such as embezzlement. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a third of all employees steal from their employers, and many of the business failures in this country can be linked to employee theft. Most fraud happens to small employers with fewer than 100 employees. This coverage can be purchased with property coverage. Commercial Property Coverage Summary: Property coverage is purchased to protect the physical assets you own or lease such as buildings, office equipment, computers, furniture, etc. When considering property coverage, it is important to have a thorough inventory of all physical assets, and to make sure the property is accurately valued and adequate coverage limits are purchased. Coverage is available on a Special Form. Business Income coverage and Extra Expense coverage are included. Specific Features: Deductible amounts of $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, and $10,000 available. The $500 deductible is the basic deductible offered An Extension endorsement is automatically quoted for all accounts for 10% additional premium. This broadening form provides many coverage options over and above the regular policy form. Highlights include: - Pollutant Clean Up and Removal - Fire Protection Equipment Discharge - Business Income from Dependent Properties - Personal Property off-Premises - Outdoor Property, including signs and plants - Earthquake sprinkler leakage - Increased cost of construction - Spoilage - Water damage - Accounts Receivable at described premises - Accounts Receivable not at described premises - Lock and Key replacement - Personal Effects and Property of Others The following coverage options are also available: Equipment Breakdown Protection coverage for boilers and pressure vessels and air conditioning units Employee Dishonesty coverage at limits of $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, or $500,000 are available. Coverage includes dishonesty by volunteer workers Money and Securities coverage on premises and off premises (maximum $100,000) Accounts Receivable on an “all risk” basis not to exceed $250,000. A $10,000 limit is automatically included in the coverage form Valuable Papers coverage on an “all risk” basis not to exceed $250,000. A $10,000 limit is automatically included in the coverage form Exterior Glass Coverage - Building owner: covered under building value; Tenant in building: covered under contents limits Outdoor Sign coverage for signs which are property of the nonprofit, or property of others in your care, custody, or control Spoilage coverage for loss of perishable stock caused by breakdown or contamination and/or power outage. The maximum limit per location is $50,000 Building Ordinance or Law coverage with three coverage options. Option one is coverage for loss to the undamaged portion of the building. Option two is for demolition costs. Option three is for increased cost of construction. Participant/Volunteer Accident Accident insurance provides a limited amount of coverage for injury to a volunteer or participant (depending on the specific coverage purchased) on a no-fault basis. It is not workers' compensation coverage! Under commercial general liability, it is typically necessary to establish fault before a payment is made. Accident insurance does not require the nonprofit to be at fault, and may apply prior to, or in excess of, an individual's health insurance policy.
